So alot of people are dumping yahelite for other clients now..it just doesnt want to stay connected. The people i talk with have the same issues with me...that damn errcode 5252..it seems its more often now.I myself connot stay connected longer then 90 mins..sometimes i dont even last 70 mins...Plus not theirs silent disconnects where chat just stops,no notice that its been disconnected.,.. have yet to have that issue on yahaven or Y!Supra...the auto resume feature seems to crash some people..i guess it depends how they have yahelite setup..it crashes me when i have /cloak enabled and in pager mode and auto resume checked... i went back to normal mode and thats where i cannot stay conected longer then 90 mins at a time..so for now i guess some people will be switching clients until yahelite or yahoo<if its a yahoo issue> can be fixed...7 years on yahelite and its just not functioning for me right now..i do hope i can come back to yahelite because these other clients suck ass!!!!

To be quite blunt most other clients are made by kids who have to much free time and little life beyond the computer. They start a client and then in about a year get bored and stop working on it. At present Deep is concentrating on his real life as that is far more important than Yahoo chat with it's total inconsistencies and daily changes. It's not like he gets paid to make YahELite.

And your point is? You are more than welcome to go and use Yazakchat, Y!Supra, Y!mLite, Cheeta, Yahaven or any of the other clients out there.

Oh wait sorry Lee's stopped work on Cheeta for now as he has paying work to do. Oh and not sure if Craig's working on Y!mLite at present or given it up again. Last I checked Peter was fed up with working on Yahaven and had taken a break.

More importantly what is your point Carbonize?? I've been experiencing this same problem, though I was thinking it is actually a boot rather than a random disconnect.

Like the OP of the thread I've been using Yahelite for many years and it has always remained my favorite client but at this very moment I'm getting dropped left and right. The only other client I run, YSupra, does not seem to be experiencing this.

I've got no problem with someone who needs to eat and pay their rent before they can worry about certain kinds of things but are you tying to imply that a bounty would be required for something like this to be examined and addressed? Or do you mean that its just our tough luck; Deep has "real life" to deal with, go cry a river somewhere else?

You get what you pay for. As anyone who has a never ending project such as a chat client or web script can tell you sometimes you get fed up of working on the same thing constantly and need to take a break. We also get fed up of the lack of appreciation and I'm not just talking about money. I think out of all my users only a handful have ever taken the time just to say thanks. Most of the time we just get people posting about things not working as they want and expecting an instant fix.

I did not start this thread to start a fight over a free client..it has been my observation over the past few months of the minor bugs in yahelite...I was just bringing it to light what others are experienceing and what they are doing to remedy the problem by switching clients. Not everyone is a member of the forum or feel they can come here and post their issues or how they feel...i am no voice for these people,as for thanking deep i have shown my apprecitiation for the work he has done when he has come into the room i frequent.Yahelite is still a working viable client im still using it,just not as my main chat program.

I was not blaming you but others. I have been in a chat room with Deep where he has had nothing but people constantly going on and on at him about things in YahELite and not once has any of them ever thanked him for making it. I know from personal experience that after a while you start to wonder why you bother when all you get is hassle and hardly ever get a thank you.

If anyone is willing to make me a list of the current issues and some suggestions on fixing them then I will happily pass them on. If there are enough issues then I could possibly persuade Deep to fix them but at present the client works even if you do get kicked out after whatever time Yahoo! deems fit.

If you guys wanna help track down that issue, then use a packet sniffer and log the entire session and upload it to someone who can find out what's causing the drops.

It has to be a ping, that's my guess.

Code:
06:21:35.143 [PACKET]0x0054(bytes=00008)(err#=0xFFFFFFFF) 66«»52«»

that is the last packet from the 5252 garbage (AuthResponse).  notice the 52 in rejection field 66

if you discard the above garbage authresponse packet, you will still get disconnected with code 1014, but without error 5252 and resume session will now be usable with it.

Not sure what the problem is my YahELite stays hooked up all day apart from the usual 3 to 4 hourly CAPTCHA dance or however long it is these days. If you have glitches fill out a bug report. It might not get an instant response but at least the author will have a better idea what to fix. Threads of whinging probably won't.
