Stupid text ban exploit

Since about Friday night of last week, there's been a lamer coming to CH:1 and text banning the whole room for hours on end and filling it up with bots.

Then he'll follow you up the category, banning any new rooms he finds you in.

How do you stop this text ban exploit?  Are there any servers that you can use?

you'd think this garbage would be patched by now considering how many people are using it and how easy it is to do it.  there's no reason to give lamers a way to come in and hold the room down all day long with it.

this has been going on in our room for 6 days straight.....non stop.


there is annother client that has a fix for it, just wonderign if Elite will have it soon as well?    soon maby?

not unless deepthawt produces an update with some command or option for it

you can also use a proxy of some sort in which yahelite will automatically send the malformed room names

if by some miracle you can get chat text to post in Chat Help:1, i'm sure somebody there'd give you the one from c______k______y which enables yahelite to post through the ban

somebody that goes by bl33d1ng_elite is to blame for a lot of this text ban garbage.

i've seen these bl33d1ng names in a lot rooms like hackers lounge and programming lounges, and all of them are full of bots or banned.

why does Yahoo stand by and let this person flagrantly violate their TOS by filling rooms with bots, booting, text banning, and distributing viruses?

if you see any name like that and it claims to have a fix for the ban, don't download anything it has or click on any of it's links, unless you want your computer to do all kinds of stupid !@$.

also, YM users CANNOT see the malformed room name packets being used to circumvent the ban

Gee only six days huh?  Meh, its been going on for 2 weeks now, every night ALL night long in quite a few rooms.  So far Yahsmosis is the only client with a public workaround.

Hopefully we'll have a fix for YahFilter, possibly wait and see

Meanwhiles, read other threads regarding Yahsmosis if you want to punch through the .txt ban's.

Yazak had the 'workaround' for a few days now, heh. =\

Yes but Zak sits in chat 24/7 and doesn't even trust his own client so sits in the room using his own client and messenger.

He took the idea from Crash without crediting him at all (big surprise there). The 'roomfix' is actually an exploit capable of exploiting entire rooms if misused. I've heard people are using Yazak to flood rooms to disconnect people.
